To provide adult players with a premier environment for competitive baseball, rooted in safety, sportsmanship, and the traditions of the game. The Southshore Adult Baseball League is dedicated to fostering fitness, lifelong camaraderie, and active community involvement through the love of the diamond.

Based in Northwest Indiana, the Southshore Adult Baseball League (SSABL) provides a premier competitive environment for players aged 20 and up. Celebrating its 22nd season in 2025, the league features specialized divisions for ages 18+ and 38+. Originally founded by Steve Carpenter as NWI NABA, we have grown into a cornerstone of "The Region’s" baseball community, fueled by a passion for the sport and a dedication to inclusive, high-quality play.
At its heart, the SSABL is more than just a league—it’s a family. Our community is built on shared traditions, from our "Steve/Jill Carpenter Day" opening celebration and team cookouts to outings at the Gary Railcats Steelyard. Whether it's the excitement of the All-Star Game and HR Derby or our massive Championship Series that brings together over 300 players and fans, the energy is always electric. This bond extends off the field to local hangouts after the final out. Here, everyone—spouses, parents, siblings, and friends—is part of the team, creating the unique camaraderie that defines us.
